Web Presence and your Personal Brand

This is article two in the series about personal branding.
Previously I spoke about Infographics and how fascinating they are and what an impact they can make in your personal branding.
Web Presence is important.
Well, Web presence is similar in many fashion. But the elephant in the room is Social platforms. When MySpace was launched in August 2003, it spoke directly to those who were keen to build a socially cohesive brand. Facebook  followed suit in Feb 2004. The obvious about the two is personal networking space.
In the previous article on Infographs, it was clear to me that the Social Network web space is in need to collation tools. And there’s plenty of API integrators out there who can help with the collation. But Infographics, would only serve the purpose of reflecting on your LTD (Life-To-Date) brand. With the use of the likes of Vizualize.me you can then draw on the timelines produced of your career. Same can be done with Facebook and Twitter.
Web Presence is important. It is important for a personal brand to exist and flourish. Models, Artists, Musicians and…wait for it… ACADEMICS! Use it to highlight, connect, inter-connect, communicate and EXIST. To the rest of the world.

“Will you be remember or known for your existence in 2112"?”
What would be your answer?
Remember Star-Trek? That is what appeared on the show over and over again. One of the crew members walked to a tablet screen or holographic room and relived (through recorded data!) history as it was recorded by some famous or rich person.
Well, Web Presence for your personal brand should include both your favourable history and story of your life (and no, no one wants to know if you were thief, but it would be more interesting if you are a Hippy or Pantsula of the ‘80s)
Start building your brand. Start with today and work your way backwards, keeping the future in mind. Pictures, Videos, achievements etc. add more voooma to your personal brand on the web.
Lastly, Twitter, my favourite at present. It is there for your to speak to other people. it is not too different from MXit and SMS. it is just more accessible, cheaper with a lot more connections.
Enjoy your existence, keep record for eternity! View Boikanyo Boikanyo's profile on LinkedIn
